One stranger with a clearly big heart distributed several bags of money this year in the German city of Braunschweig. The total amount of money was € 200,000.
The bags, with the amounts of €20,000 to €100,000, were delivered to the local newspaper Braunschweig Zeitung. In the bags, there were also instructions to which local charities they should hand the money over.
This mysterious person, among other things, has decided to help repair churches and support a bureau that helps victims of crime. Money bags have been appearing occasionally in this region in the north of the country since 2011, with some € 200,000 being distributed this year alone.
The identity of the benefactor is still a mystery.
“We just don’t know and don’t want to jeopardize this good deed,” said local newspaper journalist David Mahe.
The editor-in-chief stated that a mysterious person had contacted the local newspaper several times recently to donate money.
The nursing home received the last donation of € 100,000. The facility has 12 beds for terminally and severely ill people and caters to about twenty patients each year.
The director of this home, Petra Gotsand, said everyone in the administration was delighted and that this was the largest single donation this institution had ever received.
From 2011 to 2013, around € 250,000 was anonymously given to kindergartens, public kitchens and community projects in the region.
